About the Event
The African Laparoscopic Training Online Programme is the ultimate web based solution to training in Minimally Invasive Gynecological Surgery.
With it's roots in Nigeria and England, the programme was established in unified collaboration with the South Shore Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Lagos, along with the University Hospitals of North Midlands and the Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, in the United Kingdom. The ALTO is a 8 week programme for registrars, specialists and consultants in Gynecology wishing to extend their laparoscopic experience and improve their skills in laparoscopic suturing.
When you sign up for the ALTO Programme, you will be provided the incredible ALTO Blade - this is a foldable laparoscopic training package which you can keep free of charge, and don't have to return. It is included in the course fees of the Programme.
The ALTO Blade has a one-of-a-kind revolutionary blade shaped design and it is fully collapsible and foldable, allowing you to fit it easily into a messenger or a tote bag. There are no subscriptions, no rentals and no hidden costs.
The laparoscopic training package that you are provided will also include a suturing pad, sutures, a laparoscopic needle holder, a laparoscopic grasper and silicon models of exercises that will be required for your continued practice.
The ALTO Programme has the most comprehensive curriculum of all Laparoscopic Training Programmes. It covers suturing techniques, energy sources and tubal surgery very early on in the curriculum. The laparoscopic procedures that are covered include salpingotomies, salpingostomies, salpingectomies, hysterectomies, myomectomies, excision of endometriosis, ureterolysis and ovarian cystectomies.
You will be expected to attend all seven Zoom-based online modules of the programme and complete the expected web based tasks by online video submission on your online portfolio of progress on the ALTO website. All the modules are always delivered live, online, once a week for the duration of the Programme.
Throughout the eight weeks, you will be given tasks to practice and complete. This will form the basis of your progression through the Programme. The step-wise progression will be consolidated at an In-Person Laparoscopy Masterclass, held at the South Shore Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Lagos, normally once a year. Again, this will be included in your course fees for the Programme, with no additional fees to pay.
On signing up for one fixed fee of $850.00, you receive, your own laparoscopic box trainer package, to keep forever, along with an eight week course, delivered live, by leaders and experts in gynaecological surgery, as well as, lifetime and on demand access to the ALTO Programme's website and educational material, lifetime mentorship by Consultants from all over the World and a certification that is supported by Hospitals from the United Kingdom and Africa.
